Friendship Recreation Center: Our AU Park Flagship Camp
Home Run Baseball Camp (HRBC) at Friendship Recreation Center has been our flagship location since 1994. Players will refine their skills through high-volume repetition drills focused on technical proficiency. Each day includes two balanced games, a national anthem lineup, post-game handshakes, and a commitment to keeping our fields clean.

HRBC has managed field care from the start, with regular mowing from April to October, multiple daily field drags, and routine watering during hot spells. Over 50 trees have been planted, and a dedicated high school gardener oversees summer landscaping. Johnson’s Landscaping and Barbara Balman sponsor and provide technical support. John and Margaret Dalton Leadership Garden Established in 2018, this garden honors Secretary Dalton, the 70th Secretary of the Navy, and features a flagpole and boulder inscribed with his Eight Traits of a Leader.

Summer Camp (June 9 – August 29, 2025)
Rookie Camp: All 4-yr-olds must Register for Rookie Camp to attend camp
Spring Break Camp (April 14-18, 2025)

What to Bring
- Lunch, glove, hat, water bottle, and any preferred equipment (loaner gear available)
Daily Schedule
- Early drop-off: 8:00 AM
- Camp start: 8:30 AM
- Camp end: 3:00 PM
- Aftercare: 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Supervision & Safety
- Players are supervised all day, including lunch breaks and restroom trips in small groups with coach oversight.
- Check-in/out required by a parent or designated adult.
- Severe weather: Shelter provided at American University Athletics building with timely parent notifications.
- Light rain: Activities will continue on the field or in the batting cages.
Lost & Found
We encourage players to keep track of their belongings. Lost items are collected daily and stored for easy retrieval. Join us at Friendship Recreation Center — the best-maintained park in Washington!

Capitol Hill Camp at Watkins
HRBC launched its Capitol Hill camp at Watkins in 2011, welcoming players of all experience levels. Our astro-turf fields provide a safe and encouraging environment, led by a staff comprised of over 90% HRBC alumni. Players can expect high-volume repetition drills to enhance technical skills, along with two fair games daily, a national anthem lineup, post-game handshakes, and a commitment to field cleanliness.
